Ferc Approves Start of Gulf XPress Facilities
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) approved February 11 a request from Columbia Gas Transmission to place into service certain facilities of its Gulf XPress expansion project.
Gulf XPress consists of seven new compressor stations and modifications to one existing compressor station on the Columbia Gas mainline in Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi, together providing some 875mn ft3/day of additional firm capacity.
The facilities include the new Morehead, New Albany, Clifton Junction and Holcomb compressor stations as well as flow control modifications at the Leach C meter station. Together, the facilities will allow access to 530mn ft3/day of new firm capacity by Antero Resources, Equinor Natural Gas and SWN Energy Service Co, all anchor shippers on the Gulf XPress project.
Columbia Gas will request a separate in-service authorisation for the remaining Gulf XPress compressor stations as those facilities are completed.
