ExxonMobil sees China, India as Future Natural Gas Demand Drivers
ExxonMobil Chairman and CEO Rex Tillerson expects natural gas demand to rise fastest in Asia-Pacific economies, China and India in particular.
He said it will be the fastest growing fossil fuel until 2040.
Tillerson sees demand for natural gas to grow at around 1.5% to 1.6% a year over the next 30 years compared with less than 1% growth for all other forms of energy.
Due to the location of these countries, supplies by pipeline are limited and therefore LNG, which is very important to their supplies today will continue to remain so in future, he said.
