Exmar Tango Loads first Argentine LNG
The first commercial LNG cargo has left Argentina for export, Belgian ship-owner Exmar said November 13. It was produced on board Exmar’s Tango FLNG and is now being transported by Excalibur, an Exmar fleet LNG carrier.
Exmar's board and management said they congratulated both Exmar and Argentine producer YPF "for reaching this unique milestone. It is the first LNG shipment from the Americas produced on a floating liquefaction unit. This demonstrates the solid performance of Exmar’s floating infrastructure solutions."
The vessel was commissioned with a small cargo in June, when Exmar said: "For YPF, the delivery of the first LNG cargo of about 25,000 m³ from the Vaca Muerta shale gas reserves marks the entry of Argentina to the select club of global LNG exporting nations. For Exmar, the successful performance test in Bahia Blanca confirms the technical capabilities of the Tango FLNG."
