EU Seeks Stronger Ties with Azerbaijan

European officials visited Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to discuss cooperation opportunities, including energy projects.  

“President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by European Union Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule. During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union,” reads a note released on Tuesday evening.

The sides also discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.  

Earlier this months, Azerbaijani SOCAR strengthened business ties with BP for training activities.
