Equinor Awards Wireline Work
Norway's Equinor has awarded framework contracts worth nearly kroner 1bn ($117mn) for integrated wireline and well intervention services at its fixed platforms to Altus Intervention and Archer Integrated Services, it said on January 19.
The contracts run for five years from May 2021 and each include three two-year extension options. There are also options for wireline services for other areas such as mobile units.

Equinor previously awarded separate contracts for cable and mechanical services, perforation and logging as well as tractor and electro-mechanical services. These services will all now be covered by the integrated wireline services, and the suppliers have formed alliances to offer complete deliveries, the company said.
Altus is working with Baker Hughes while Archer is collaborating with Welltec Oilfield Services and Schlumberger.
"This is the result of a long-term strategy to achieve more holistic solutions, and an opportunity to modernise the intervention services," Equinor's chief procurement officer Peggy Krantz-Underland said. "It will give the suppliers stronger authority and responsibility and enable more performance-based compensation schemes. We are currently intensifying our effort of building one team together with the suppliers."
