ERR: Environmental Groups Meet With Nord Stream
Estonian environmental groups met today with Nord Stream representatives to discuss the company's proposal to build an additional gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea.
The Estonian Fund for Nature said Nord Stream was still not able to answer a number of questions about the impact that the pipeline would have on the environment. Despite having conducted studies, the company has not been able to show how much pollution and toxic chemicals will be released from seafloor sediments, according to the fund's representative, Alex Lotman.
"The Baltic Sea's condition is critical and additional threats are not acceptable,“ Lotman said. MORE
