Eni Wins Two Egyptian Blocks

Italian producer Eni has won two exploration blocks onshore Egypt, it said February 15. One is oil: South East Siwa, of which Eni has 100% under the  EGPC 2018 competitive bid round. It is near its “SW Melehia” Concession, where two commercial oil discoveries have recently been announced and for which development plans are being prepared.

But the second block is near the promising Nooros field: West Sherbean, which it shares equally with UK major BP, and was awarded under the EGAS 2018 competitive bid round. The block is onshore Nile Delta, immediately southwest of the new Nile Delta concession assigned to Eni in August 2018. The new block covers an area of 1,535 km2. Eni said in both cases exploration, if successful, will benefit from existing or under construction infrastructure.
