Eni, PetroVietnam to Invest in Vietnamese Gas Infrastructure

Eni and PetroVietnam signed a deal earlier this under which the Italian energy firm will start to explore for oil and gas in blocks 114, 120 and 105-110/04 offshore Vietnam, PetroVietnma said in a statement. The drilling is expected to begin in June this year.

The two parties also plan to have a broader cooperation in the oil and gas sectors in Vietnam. The deal also helps Eni to expand and create favourable conditions for investment in Vietnam upstream as well as downstream segments.

PetroVietnma also said that Eni would be helpful in implementing gas projects, particularly in the LNG value chain. ENI has also indicated its interest in investing in gas infrastructure in Vietnam.
