ENGIE to Supply LNG to Beijing Gas Group
French firm ENGIE on Thursday signed a deal to supply LNG to Beijing Enterprise Group (BEG).
The deal was signed in Toulouse between Pierre Chareyre, Executive Vice President, in charge of Global Gas & LNG of ENGIE and Wang Dong, Chairman of BEG.
As per the agreement, ENGIE will provide Beijing Gas, a subsidiary of BEG, two LNG cargoes to meet Beijing City’s natural gas needs in winter, the first delivery will be in November and the second in January.
Also, the two companies would look to carry out cooperation in some major energy projects in China as well as look to jointly invest in some natural gas liquefaction projects in third party countries.
Thursday’s LNG supply agreement is the consolidation of the two companies’ bilateral cooperation agreements signed in 2014 and 2015, and it keeps pace with the new strategy of the two parties, ENGIE said.
