Energean hooks up Karish off Israel
Energean has hooked up the Karish gas field to the Israel National Gas Line (INGL), the company reported on March 2, priming the project for its commercial launch later this year.
The connection between Energean's land-based system at Dor Beach in north Israel and INGL was completed with the welding together of two 30-inch diameter pipe sections. Gas from Karish will flow to the Energean Power floating production storage and offloading vessel 90 km offshore, where output will be processed and separated. The treated gas will then be sent on its way to INGL.

"This is another significant moment bringing us closer to the delivery of first gas from our flagship Karish development and is testament to the hard work of our employees," Energean CEO Mathios Rigas said in a statement. "Upon arrival, the groundbreaking Energean Power FPSO will be the first to be deployed in the eastern Mediterranean Sea – providing enhanced security of supply for both Israeli and regional gas consumers whilst bolstering Energean's position as a low-carbon energy producer, driving the energy transition in the wider Mediterranean."
Energean confirmed in mid-January that Karish, its flagship asset, was still on track to start commercial flow in the third quarter of this year.
