EMSA Publishes LNG Bunkering Guide
The European Maritime Safety Agency, an official EU body based in Lisbon, published February 6 its 'Guidance on LNG Bunkering to Port Authorities and Port Administrations'.

The guidance was prepared in close cooperation with the European Commission (DG Move), member states and industry within the context of the European Sustainable Shipping Forum and "aims to support port authorities and administrations backing the use of LNG as a ship fuel, as part of a joint effort to increase safety and sustainability."
It contains several illustrations of LNG-fuelled vessels and bunkering facilities (barges and trucks) already deployed and soon to be deployed in Europe, precautions to be taken in the handling of LNG, and several useful tables and graphics - including table 2.20 illustrating the four main bunkering methods: truck-to-ship, ship-to-ship, port-to-ship, and ISO container to ship; the latter is a method now used in Madeira.
