Eagle LNG Earns non-FTA Export Approval
The US Department of Energy (DoE) said October 4 it had issued an order approving the small-scale export of up to 140mn ft3/day of natural gas as LNG to non-FTA countries from Eagle LNG’s proposed Eagle Jacksonville Project in Florida.
The Jacksonville project was approved by the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) in September. Ultimately owned by Ferus Natural Gas Fuels, the facility will export small volumes of LNG to Caribbean power markets and meet domestic and marine bunkering demand.
Including Eagle LNG order, the DoE has approved 34.66bn ft3/day of exports in the form of LNG and compressed natural gas to non-FTA countries. Of the approved amount, some 15bn ft3/day is in various stages of operation and construction.
