Conoco Terminates CBM Program in Qinshui
ConocoPhillips said it has terminated its participation a coalbed-methane program in Qinshui, China.
In a regulatory filing released Wednesday, Conoco said it ended its participation in the program in the fourth quarter of last year.
In 2009, the Houston company entered in a drilling-evaluation pilot program in the area that was supposed to last between 12 and 18 months, it said. Qinshui is supposed to contain some of China's largest reserves of coalbed methane, or CBM.
The filing did not provide any additional details of why the US major withdrew.
