Cnooc's facility off Hainan to start production: Press
Chinese state-run Cnooc’s deep-water semi-submersible production and storage facility offshore Hainan province, Deep Sea No 1, will start production by the end of this month, China Daily reported June 18.
The facility is expected to supply 3bn m3/year of natural gas to Guangdong and Hainan provinces and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

All equipment has been installed in the energy station and the staff is carrying out the final tests ahead of its commissioning, China Daily reported citing a statement from Cnooc.
Located at Lingshui 17-2 gas field, China's first deepwater gas field, the drilling platform has an average operational water depth of 1,500 m, some 150 km off the island province of Hainan. Its service life is 150 years.
