Cnooc's Longkou Terminal Plan Moves Forward
Cnooc Gas and Power’s report on feasibility of the first phase development of the Longkou LNG receiving terminal in Shandong province has been accepted by parent firm Cnooc, it said May 24.
Last year, Cnooc Gas and Power and Nanshan Group has signed the cooperation framework agreement to jointly build the Longkou Nanshan LNG receiving terminal, which will be located in the Longkou Port.
In the first phase the terminal will have a capacity to handle 5mn metric tons/year of LNG, Cnooc Gas and Power said. It will have six tanks, each with storage capacity of 220,000 m3. The terminal is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2022.
Cnooc Gas and Power, a unit of state-owned Cnooc, operates nine LNG import terminals at Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Putian, Yuedong, Dapeng, Zhuhai, Hainan and Shenzhen - most of which are part-owned by others. Company’s tenth terminal is at present under construction.
