Chornomornaftogaz Triples Production at Offshore Strilkove Gas Field

Ukraine's state-run JSC Chornomornaftogaz has tripled daily production at the Strilkove gas field, to 30,000 cubic meters of gas, the company's press service has reported.

"The second [gas] well was put into operation at the MSP-112 offshore structure in the Sea of Azov after repairs. It was connected to the gas transport system. Consumers started getting fuel," reads the statement.

The Strilkove gas field is the first offshore field on Ukrainian territory.

Gas is extracted there both on land and in the sea. On land, the gas well was commissioned in 1970, and in the sea, it was put into operation in 1981.

Chornomornaftogaz was established in 1979 as an industrial association for the development of hydrocarbon resources in the Black and Azov Seas. The company has 17 fields, including 11 gas fields, four gas condensate fields, and two oil fields.

The total reserves of all fields are currently estimated at 58.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas, 1.231 million tons of gas condensate, and 2.53 million tons of oil.
