China's LNG imports up 3% in May

China imported 6.57mn tonnes of LNG in May, marking a 3.4% increase compared with the same month last year, according to data published by the customs department on June 18.

In the first five months of 2024, China's total LNG imports reached 32.42mn tonnes, representing an 18.1% increase compared with the same period last year.

China's pipeline gas imports in May amounted to 4.77mn tonnes, up 12.7% year/year. The total pipeline gas imports for the January-May period were 21.85mn tonnes, up 16.5% year/year.
