China's Shale Gas Deposits Far Exceed Conventional Resources

A report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration indicates that deposits of natural gas from shale formations in China are 12 times higher than conventional gas reserves in the nation.

Reserves from China’s shale rocks that are “technically recoverable” were at 1,275 trillion cubic feet compared with 107 trillion in proved gas deposits in 2009, reported the division of the United States Department of Energy.
