China CBM Reserves Increased in 2011
China witnessed a rise in reserves of natural gas and coalbed methane last year, government agencies said Thursday. New reserves of natural gas rose by 29.6 percent on year to hit 765.95 billion cubic meters in 2011.
Close to 100 billion cubic meters of reserves were added from two deposits, Sulige gasfield in Inner Mongolia and Yuanba gasfield in Sichuan province.
Reserves of coal bed methane saw an addition of 142.17 billion cubic meters last year, up 27.5 percent from the previous year, taking the country's total proven CMB reserves to 415.57 billion cubic meters at the end of 2011.
