Chevron Moving on Polish Shales

A unit of Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (PGNiG) has signed an agreement to drill shale gas exploration wells for a local unit of for Chevron Corp.

The contract provides for the drilling of several holes in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Chevron Poland Energy Resources Sp. z o. o. has rights to explore for natural gas in the Grabowiec, Frampol, Kransnik and Zwierzyniec blocks of southern eastern Poland.

Nafta Pila is has been conducting drilling for foreign companies in Poland looking for unconventional natural gas reserves including Lane Energy, Saponis Investments, Aurelian Oil & Gas.
