CESI Gladstone Docks at Sinopec's Tianjin Terminal

CESI Gladstone, first of the six carriers commissioned to transport LNG that Chinese state-owned Sinopec purchases from the Australia Pacific LNG project, docked June 1 for the first time at company’s Tianjin terminal, Sinopec said June 6. CESI Gladstone was delivered in October 2016 has previously transported cargo to Sinopec's Qingdao terminal. 

The regasified LNG will be supplied to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region through the supporting pipeline network, it said.

Recently, Sinopec received the sixth and final vessel to serve the LNG transport project for Sinopec announced in April 2013. Sinopec has a long-term contract with APLNG to buy 7.6mn mt/yr of LNG for 20 years.

Sinopec’s Tianjin terminal started commercial operation in March this year. It has a capacity of 3mn mt/yr.
