Is the final curtain soon to descend on the Nabucco pipeline project? It was an ambitious plan, a pipeline corridor across Turkey and south-eastern Europe that would deliver gas from a host of new suppliers in the Caspian Sea region and the Middle East to the heart of Europe.
The idea of ‘new gas’ delivered through a ‘new route’ appealed to policy makers in Brussels, seeking greater diversification of EU gas imports, who gave the project their blessing and the much-coveted priority status. MORE
