Canadian Gas Cleantech Fund Wins Global Petroleum Show Award
Canada’s Natural Gas Innovation Fund (NGIF), an industry-supported funding organisation designed to advance cleantech development along the full natural gas value chain, said June 14 it had been awarded the Collaborative Trendsetter Award at Calgary’s Global Petroleum Show.
The award, bestowed by a judging panel representing industry, government, academia, research, First Nations and environmental organisations, recognises “operators who are leading the charge, pushing the envelope, refining industry level performance, driving technology innovation and collaboration within the oil and gas industry.”
“It was less than three years ago the NGIF was an idea on a whiteboard, and today the Global Petroleum Show’s judging panel of senior leaders from government, the oil and gas industry, multinationals and start-ups picked our fund as award winner,” NGIF managing director John Adams said. “We are both excited and humbled [by] this recognition that communicates the power of collaboration from our industry investors.”
NGIF is an industry-led, industry-funded, granting organisation created by the Canadian Gas Association in 2016 that seeks to accelerate cleantech innovation in the production, transmission, distribution and end-use of natural gas.
