Cairn India Provides Lanka Update

Cairn India reported that Cairn Lanka has successfully completed the first phase of the exploration campaign in Sri Lanka.

The company was involved in the acquisition, processing and interpretation of 1,753 sq km of 3D seismic data and drilled three wells, which culminated in two successive gas and condensate discoveries.

The third well was plugged and abandoned as a dry hole last month.

Cairn Lanka also plans to enter the second phase of exploration and has notified the Lnakan government about the same.
