BP Suspends Shah Deniz for Two Weeks
BP, the operator of Azerbaijan’s offshore Shah Deniz (SD) gas field development project, stopped production on August 14 for two weeks while it carries out planned maintenance SD’s platform. Also affected are its facilities at the Sangachal terminal as well as the South Caucasus Pipeline which starts at Sangachal it said August 15. Before closure, SD1 was producing 30mn m³/d.
Maintenance work includes various projects such as tie-ins for the jump over line between SD1 and SD2, as well as upgrading an off-take and metering station in Georgia, the UK major said.
Production from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field (Central Azeri, East Azeri, West Azeri, Chirag, Deepwater Gunashli and West Chirag), the ACG related sections of the Sangachal Terminal as well as crude export operations via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan line will all continue as normal.
