BP Awards Shah Deniz Work to Subsea7
Norway-listed Subsea 7 said March 12 it had been awarded a "substantial contract" by BP for the provision of subsea inspection, repair and maintenance services on both the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) and Shah Deniz (SD) fields offshore Azerbaijan.
The contractor said it defines a substantial contract as being between $150mn and $300mn.
Under the terms of this five year agreement, the scope of work comprises the provision of a Life of Field support vessel complete with work class and observation class ROVs, capable of performing inspection, survey, intervention, light subsea construction, surface diving and emergency response services. The Life of field support vessel will be supported by a Baku based onshore project management and engineering team. Services will begin in March 2018 with a project team located in Baku.
Subsea 7 said the contract represents a significant milestone for its provision of such 'i-Tech services" and its entry into Azerbaijan, providing it with an opportunity to develop its in-country and regional presence.
It follows the announcement March 12 of major Feed contract by BP relating to an offshore Senegal/Mauritania floating LNG project to two US contractors.
