BlueNord kicks off drilling ops on Harald East Middle Jurassic well
Oslo-listed BlueNord announced on June 17 that drilling operations on the Harald East Middle Jurassic (HEMJ) well have commenced, with the well successfully spudded by the jackup rig Shelf Drilling Winner.
The HEMJ well is situated in the Harald East area, near the Norwegian border. Gas from this well will be exported through the Tyra East facilities, with production expected by the end of 2024. The anticipated yield from the well is estimated to be up to 8mn barrels of oil equivalent net to BlueNord, with approximately 80% of this expected to be gas.
“We will drill through the chalk reservoir and then into the Jurassic reservoir, which has very promising qualities. If successful, the expected gains from HEMJ could be significant for BlueNord, and we look forward to seeing the results later this year," said Miriam Lykke, BlueNord's COO.
The HEMJ well is part of BlueNord’s ongoing exploration and development efforts in the region, aiming to enhance its production capabilities and resource base.
