BG Group Looks for New Chief Executive
Chris Finlayson finally left the helm of BG Group, after the Board accepted his resignation as Chief Executive of the company for ‘personal reasons.’
According to the UK-based company, the Board is looking for an external successor.
In the while, Andrew Gould, BG Group's Non-Executive Chairman, will take over as interim Executive Chairman. He is expected to revert to the role of Non-Executive Chairman once the new Chief Executive is appointed.
“The Company must accelerate the creation and delivery of the longer-term value for our shareholders, while delivering the Group's business plans. The Board felt that it was in the best interests of the Group to accept Chris' resignation and seek fresh leadership to deliver both of these priorities,” Gould said in a note released on Monday.
The British Government recently launched a Competition & Markets Authority investigation into the energy market, whose aim is to “clear the air” and to scan the energy sector twenty-five years on from privatisation.
