BG Group, GSPL to Sign LNG Deal by mid-2012

BG Group expects to sign LNG sale agreement with Gujarat State Petroleum Corp by the middle of 2012 to supply up to 2.5 million tonnes a year of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from 2014, its India unit head told reporters on the sidelines of the Asia Gas Partnership conference Friday.

The official said that the two companies have already signed an initial agreement for supplies for 20 years.

GSPC is fully owned by the government of Gujarat.
