Bawal Gas Field to See Production in 2012
Inpex Ltd expects production at Bawal gas field in the South Natuna Sea Block B, to commence in 2012, which will be followed with production at South Belut gas field in 2013.
ConocoPhillips is operator of the block, which expires in 2028. The block produces 53,000 barrels per day of crude oil and 340 MMSCFD of natural gas. Inpex holds a 35% participating interest in South Natuna Sea Block B.
The block signed a gas sales contract for 22 years from 2001 with SembCorp, Singapore and for 20 years from 2002 with Petronas, Malaysia.
Since October 2010, LPG production at Belanak field has been suspended due to repairs needed for LPG FSO. "LPG production back in service in February 2012," Inpex said in a presentation to investors recently.
Inpex also owns 15% participating interest in Sebuku Block, where Ruby Gas field is expected to commence production in the second half of 2013.
