Bangladesh's Second FSRU Arrives at Moheshkhali

Bangladesh’s second floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) has now arrived and is moored 6 km off the island of Moheshkhali in Cox’s Bazaar.

The vessel, Summit LNG, carried LNG from Qatar and will now supply regasified LNG via a subsea pipeline connected to the national grid, Summit Power International said April 20. The FSRU can regasify 500mn ft3/day of LNG.

Summit LNG Terminal, a unit of Summit Power International, has signed the FSRU time charter party agreement for 15 years with Excelerate Energy. This project is part of Summit Power International’s $1bn investment programme by 2020 to deliver power and gas to Bangladesh.
