Australian East Coast LNG Exports Up 11% in Feb

LNG exports from three projects on the Australian east coast came to 1.97mn metric tons (mt) in February, up 10.67% year/year, according to the latest data published by Gladstone Ports Corporation. The exports were up 3% month/month.   

China imported 1.42mn mt of LNG last month, up from 1.05mn mt in February 2020, the data showed. South Korea imported 361,355 mt as against 226,454 mt in the same month of last year while shipments to Japan came to 126,031 mt versus 193,757 mt. Malaysia imported 63,288 mt, down from 246,410 mt last year.

The three projects exported 22.36mn metric tons in 2020, up over 1% yr/yr despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The projects are APLNG; Gladstone LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG.
