Aussie east coast LNG exports down 3% in February
LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast in February were 1.86mn metric tons, down 3.1% year/year, Gladstone Port Corp. said on March 6. The exports were up 3.3% month/month.
Exports to China were 822,914 mt, down from 986,773 mt last year. The data showed that the east coast projects exported 407,772 mt of LNG to South Korea, down from 484,187 mt last year. The exports to Japan were 343,032 mt, up from 124,618 mt in February 2022.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG, and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from these projects came in at 22.64mn mt in 2022, down from a record 23.47mn mt in 2021.
The three LNG exporters in late September signed a heads of agreement with the Australian government to increase the gas supply to the domestic market.
