Aussie east coast LNG exports drop 3% in Feb

LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast came in at 1.92mn metric tons in February, down 2.5% year/year, Gladstone Ports Corp said on March 6. The exports were down 5.9% month/month. 

China was the biggest buyer and imported 986,773 mt of LNG, down from 1.42mn mt in the same month last year. South Korea shipped in 484,187 mt of LNG as against 361,533 mt in February 2021. Japan imported 124,618 mt of LNG versus 126,031 mt in the previous year.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from the three projects came in at a record 23.47mn mt in 2021, up 4.96% yr/yr.
