Aussie east coast LNG exports down 10% in October
LNG exports from the three projects on the Australian east coast in October came in at 1.86mn metric tons, down 9.7% year/year, Gladstone Port Corp. said on November 6. The exports were down 2% month/month.
Exports to China were 1.09mn mt, down from 1.2mn mt last year. The data showed that the east coast projects exported 277,141 mt of LNG to South Korea last month, down from 348,447 mt a year ago. The exports to Japan were 307,071 mt, up from 128,845 mt last year. Malaysia imported 122,131 mt, down from 247,602 mt.

The three east coast projects are Australia Pacific LNG, Gladstone LNG, and Queensland Curtis LNG. LNG exports from the three projects came in at a record 23.47mn mt in 2021, up 4.96% yr/yr.
The three LNG exporters in late September signed a heads of agreement with the Australian government to increase the gas supply to the domestic market.
