Armour Energy Completes Cow Lagoon-1 Well

Armour Energy has completed the drilling of Cow Lagoon-1 which proves the presence of a valid hydrocarbon trap, adding to prospectivity of the McArthur Basin.  

The well was drilled to a total depth of 1,804 metres and discovered gas in the Lynott and Reward Formations with further gas shows in Barnet Creek, a shale oil and gas target.

“The presence of this thick gas charged, naturally fractured sequence indicates the potential for the application of lateral wells and stimulation techniques in these sequences across EP 176,” Armour said in a statement.

The McArthur Basin hold estimated 18.8 trillion cubic feet of gas and 2 billion barrels of associated liquids within Armour’s EP 171 and EP 176.
