Apache Seeks to Sell LNG to Asia

Apache Corp. is seeking to sell about 85% of the 5 million tonnes of annual LNG exports from the first plant at its Kitimat project in Canada to Asia, a company executive told the news reporters.

Mate Parentich, general manager of LNG marketing and shipping at Apache, said Asian utilities are also taking interest in acquiring equity stakes in the Kitimat project. "We are speaking with the major utilities in the Asian Pacific region," Parentich noted.
