Algeria to Incentivise Unconventional Gas Exploration
Algeria is considering offering incentives for the exploration of unconventional hydrocarbons under a current proposal, Dow Jones reported citing a government official.
Ali Hached, an adviser to Algeria's oil minister Youcef Yousfi, said focus will be on tight gas and shale gas.
He said the incentives were part of a proposed amendment to Algeria's hydrocarbons law which is still being examined by the government.
Hached said the amendement would offer improved terms for future contracts be they conventional or unconventional. It would be "in proportion of the difficulty" of each acreage, Hached said.
