Algeria Tries to Increase its African Clout
Algeria is trying to capitalise on its know-how in the energy field, increasing its continental clout through stronger cooperation with Kenya.
Minister of Energy Youcef Yousfi met with Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and international Trade Amina Mohamed Jibril on Tuesday.
The two Ministers spoke about cooperation between the two countries, mainly in the upstream sector.
According to Algeria Press Service, the sides also discussed the possibility of training Kenyan engineers in Algeria.
‘In this regard, the Kenyan minister expressed the wish of his country to benefit from the Algerian experience in the field of distribution of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG),’ reads the report.
Earlier this month, also Cyprus voiced its intention to strengthen cooperation with Algeria.
