Fatal Accident Hits Socar Caspian Plant

One oil worker was killed and nine more missing in the Caspian Sea December 15 after strong winds hit an oil gathering installation operated by state oil company Socar.

This is the second accident in a year: 30 workers died in a platform fire December 2015 in the Guneshli field, which was also caused by strong winds.

Emergency vessels and those owned by Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping CJSC were at the site to search for the missing workers.
