ABB to provide automation tech to Texas LNG
Texas LNG, the proposed 4mn tonnes/year LNG export project, has collaborated with global technology leader ABB to provide the project's core automation and electrical equipment, its parent company Glenfarne Energy Transition said on December 8.
“Texas LNG’s mission to be one of the lowest-emitting LNG export terminals on the planet requires the sector’s top expertise and innovation,” said Brendan Duval, CEO of Glenfarne. “By partnering with ABB, we’re confident that Texas LNG will be the most efficient and environmentally sensitive US LNG facility.”
As part of the MoU, both parties have agreed to a framework for ABB to invest in the project.
Texas LNG anticipates securing project financing in 2024, with construction commencing soon after. The first LNG exports are expected in late 2027 or early 2028.
