300 Years of Shale Gas

Poland could be sitting on over 300 years of shale gas supply.

Treasury Ministry under secretary of state Mikolaj Budzanowski made the comment to  Polish Radio.

Minister Budzanowski said that the discovery of over 5 billion cubic metres of shale gas deposits, ” is very positive news for the gas market in Poland.”

“But of course this is based only on a preliminary analysis,” he adds.

He added that that though “there is a lot of work to do” before the country can consider itself a major player on the energy market.

“We still have a lot of work to do to confirm these predictions and this is a huge challenge for all 25 companies who have received the first concessions to prepare preliminary studies on the ground.”
